Design Zero Waste Day

What?

The target of this event is to develop actionable and impactful projects that directly contribute to our Bay Area community’s waste and emission reduction targets. The event uses a design-thinking approach to develop concepts and a jury selects the most promising top 3 projects for future implementation.

  • Problems: Presented as ‘How Might We’ statements. They cover areas that have unresolved waste problems.

  • Solutions: Creative solutions are developed in a systematic approach and using the power of the group. They can be technical, psychological, behavioral, or a combination. Selection criteria for the solution are 1. the size of its impact, i.e. how much does it contribute to the city’s target, 2. time-to-implement and 3. feasibility/viability (costs).

  • Target audience: Professionals of all roles and seniority. Max of 50 people / 10 groups of 5 participants.

  • Date: February 2020 (Saturday).
